Things You Must Know About 14 August, Pakistan Independence Day

Pakistan came into being on 14 August 1947, by the grace of Almighty Allah and efforts of millions of Muslims around the subcontinent.

This was not just a normal partition of two states, but a complete ideology of the separation of two different religious nations living in the subcontinent. The movement was first inaugurated by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan known as Two Nation Theory.

After years of political and cultural struggle of Muslim leaders Pakistan marked its identity in the map of the world on 14 August.

Here are the things you must know about the independence of Pakistan.

  • Freedom is earned through sacrifices, not granted. Although the azadi achieved through talks and no war between Pakistan and India. But, thousands lose their lives, lose their property, lose their motherland, lose their identity, just for the dream of a new Muslim state.
  • The fact is that Pakistan actually did not come into being on 14th of August in 1947. It was actually 15th August, same day as India’s Independence Day. And logically true that two nations got their rights at the same time. But in 1948, the dates changed to 14 because of 27th Ramadan. The most sacred day for Muslims.
  • Although no wars and fights for freedom million lose their lives. The very next morning of Independence, when the train reached from Amritsar to Lahore Pakistan, was full of dead bodies. It was the people of India who killed those choosing Pakistan as their new state.
