PAMA Reports 49% Decline in Car Sales in July 2025

According to the latest data release from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), car sales in Pakistan in July have been declined compared to the previous month of June. These sales figures shed light on trends, company performance, and the future direction of the industry.

Looking at car sales, according to PAMA, car sales have declined by more than 49 percent in the month of July. In comparison, 11,034 units were sold in July, while 21,773 units were sold in June. Despite this decline, annual car sales are still up 28 percent compared to July 2024, although the month was not particularly impressive.

If we look at company-wise sales, the highest decline has been recorded in Pak Suzuki, which is 72 percent. In second place is Honda Atlas, whose sales have decreased by 17 percent. In third place is Hyundai Nishat Group, whose sales have decreased by 16 percent. And finally, Toyota Pakistan, which has decreased by 9 percent, is the lowest on this list.

One obvious reason for the 72% drop in Pak Suzuki sales may be the influx of Chinese car options and EV vehicles launched in Pakistan in mid-2025, i.e. June-July. This year, the most cars have been launched in Pakistan, especially EVs, PHEVs, SUVs and mini-segment vehicles. And it can be said that China has invaded Pakistan with cars. People have so many options that they are no longer considering cars like Suzuki’s Alto, Cultus or Swift.

It should be remembered that these three vehicles are the preferred first cars for people in Pakistan, the main reason for which is their affordability.
