Pakistan Receives $1Billion Loan From IMF

International Monitoring Fund (IMF) facilitate Pakistan for the 2nd time with $1.023 Billion loan tranche under Extended Fund Facility (EFF).

State Bank of Pakistan SBP receives SDR 760 million ($1.023 billion) from IMP under EFF facility. The amount will be reflected in SBP by the end of week on MAY 16, 2025. Read the X post from SBP here:

The funds approved by Executive Board of International Monitory Funds (IMF) on Friday calculating second loan tranche of $1 billion despite India’s attempt to block the approval.

$1billion dollar loan tranche approved this year while $1.3billion would be distribute by time in next 28 months.

This cash flow in SBP reserves helps stabilize the economy and government to meet external financial requirements.
