Lahore Board of Education Moves Online

The Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has decided to completely move its office affairs online. All office work is being moved from manual paperwork to a paperless digital system.
This transformation project was completed through e-FOAS with the support of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). It aims to improve day-to-day operations and functions such as file tracking, record management, etc.
Although the entire system will be online, the issuance of certificates and mark sheets will still be done manually. Each branch has been informed to conduct daily security checks to keep the online certificates safe, so that there is no risk of loss of student records.
According to officials, the integration of digital systems is a transparent option, which will not only increase the speed of processing but also reduce paperwork to a great extent, which supports ‘Go Green’. Also, digital filing of student credentials will also prevent the risk of documents getting lost.
Similar online systems have been introduced in other civil departments, where record keeping has improved significantly.
