The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had requested the International Cricket Council (ICC) to remove Asia Cup 2025 match referee Andy Pycroft, which was rejected.
According to reports, Andy Pycroft had prohibited Pakistan T20 cricket team captain Salman Ali Agha from shaking hands with Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav in the last India vs Pakistan match.
Salman Ali Agha and the PCB say that this is a violation of the spirit of sportsmanship and international cricket policy and we condemn the behavior of Andy Pycroft and the Indian players.
The PCB had requested the ICC to remove Andy Pycroft as a match referee from the Asia Cup 2025 due to this sporting violation.
The ICC ignored the PCB’s removal request, and Andy Pycroft will remain the match referee for the remaining Asia Cup matches and the upcoming India vs Pakistan match.
