Resolution in Punjab Assembly Seeks TikTok Ban in Pakistan

A resolution has been presented in the Punjab Assembly seeking a complete ban on the social media platform TikTok in Pakistan.

MPA Farrukh Javed Moon presented this resolution and suggested that the federal government should ban this social platform nationwide.

According to the resolution, TikTok’s live chat feature is promoting obscenity and immorality among the young generation of Pakistan. It is pushing the new generation on a path that is not civilized.

It was further stated that boys and girls engage in live video chats with each other and demand unusual acts on camera. This is a serious violation of Islamic, Sharia and social values.

The resolution to ban TikTok also makes it clear that Pakistani youth, in the pursuit of fame and money, are doing everything that is causing social disruption.

The Punjab Assembly has requested the federal government to take immediate action and completely ban the TikTok platform and its live chat feature in Pakistan to protect the younger generation from immorality.

TikTok has faced temporary bans several times in Pakistan before, due to vulgar content, immorality, and abusive effect that were having a negative impact on the mental and physical health of youngsters.
