Arooj Butt Appointed as Manager U-17 Football team

Arooj Butt has been appointed as the manager of the men’s U-17 national team by the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF). This is the first time in Pakistan’s football history that a woman has been given the honor of managing the men’s national team.
Arooj Butt has been serving the Pakistan Football Federation since 2022, where she held the position of Safeguarding Officer. In line with this profession, she holds multiple certifications from FIFA Child Safeguarding and Welfare, AFC, and South Asian Football Federation (SAFF).
PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani said: “I am proud to see women taking managerial role in the history of Pakistan football. We believe her presence will inspire more women to take up key roles in football.”
This appointment is not just a job position, but the government’s message to the public that women can serve to any position in any field and perform their roles to the best of their ability.
This move emphasize FIFA’s 2016 Article 3, which states that women’s participation in sports plays a crucial role in shaping the future of sports.
