Punjab Parrot License Fees Announced

The Punjab Wildlife Department has made it mandatory to obtain a license for keeping certain parrot species. These specific species are of local origin, including the Rose-ringed and Alexandrine parrots.
The department has currently approved licensing for the breeding of four Pakistani native parrots, including:
- Rose-Ringed Parakeet (krameri)
- Alexandrine Parakeet (eupatria)
- Plum-headed Parakeet (cyanocephala)
- Grey-headed Parakeet (finschii)
This license will not apply to any non-native parrot species, such as macaws, cockatiels, etc.

Punjab Parrot Fees:
Now, if any individual keeps native parrots of Pakistan, his license fee will be Rs. 1,000 per bird per year.
But for those who breed these parrots, two types of licenses have been introduced, with different annual fees.
Small Breeders: If the farm size is between 3 Marla and 1 Kanal, then an annual fee of Rs. 30,000 will be applicable.
Large Breeders: If the farm size is more than 1 Kanal, then an annual fee of Rs. 50,000 will be applicable.
All licensed birds will be allotted a unique ID code by the department.
Currently, this fee structure has been issued by the Wildlife Department, and further steps will be taken on this soon.
