Social media influencer Samiya Hijab reached an agreement to withdraw her kidnapping and harassment case on Monday, and the court granted bail to the suspect.
Suspect Hasan Zahid, who tried to kidnap Samiya Hijab, was arrested on September 2 under Section 354 (assault) and Section 365 (attempt to kidnap). Samiya’s complaint was registered at Shalimar police station.
According to Sessions Judge Aamir Zia, before today’s court hearing, Samiya had recorded her statement and said that she withdraws the case and the matter had been resolved.
Samiya said in her statement, “I have no objection to granting bail to the suspect and his acquittal.”
When the judge asked Samiya if she had forgiven the suspect, Samiya replied yes.
The judge granted bail to the suspect in exchange for Rs 20,000 fine.
