First Successful Knee Cancer Surgery in Jinnah Hospital Karachi

Doctors at Jinnah Hospital Karachi performed knee cancer surgery for the first time, with a 26-year-old patient receiving an artificial knee implant.

Dr. Farukh from the surgical team says that the patient was diagnosed with cancer of the knee and lower leg. A team of expert orthopedic and plastic surgeons from Jinnah Hospital performed a four-hour long operation, in which the patient’s knee tumor was removed and a prosthetic knee was implanted.

After the surgery, test reports confirmed that the cancer had been completely removed from the knee successfully. Dr. Farukh also said that the artificial knee, which cost over Rs. 1 million, was provided by Jinnah Hospital absolutely free of cost.

The entire surgery cost more than Rs 3.5 million, which Jinnah Hospital provided absolutely free of cost. The artificial knee implanted will continue to function for 20 to 25 years.

Orthopedic team includes Dr. Farukh, Dr. Muzaffar, Dr. Wali, Dr. Shahid, and Dr. Khushal.

Plastic surgery team includes Dr. Agha Waseem, Dr. Mehak, Dr. Komal, and Dr. Farooq mojood.

In addition, a breast cancer vaccine has also been discovered in Pakistan’s medical sector, which helps prevent breast cancer.
