New Strict Requirement for License Issuing by Lahore Traffic Police

Lahore Traffic Police has issued strict measures for issuing driving license in Lahore. DIG Lahore Traffic Police Waqas Nazir has announced that cameras in driving test centers will remain open 24/7 and will not be turned off at all.
Live recording:
In the new measures, the police have made the video of the driving test mandatory. Without the driving test video, the license will not be issued or processed. Earlier, the video was kept backed up for 15 days, which could not be reused after 15 days in case of any irregularity or complaint. Now, these video recordings will be backed up for life in the data center of the Safe City Authority.
DIG Waqas Nazir says the camera will verify who is eligible for a license and who is not. Driving errors will be caught automatically, which will also eliminate the recommendation or favoritism system.
Why the new requirement for a license?
According to the DIG, he wants to eliminate the loopholes and weaknesses in the traffic driving test process, which will ensure that licenses are issued only on merit and to qualified drivers. The process of permanent storage of video will help in transparency, improvement and corrective measures.
