Punjab Uses Thermal Drone Technology to Rescue Flood Victims

CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif shared a post on her official X account (formerly Twitter). The post contained CCTV drone footage inspecting flood-affected areas and districts with help of thermal drone technology.

Maryam Nawaz said that in flood-affected areas such as cities like Sialkot, Sargodha, Gujrat and Jhang, people, animals and property that have been submerged in water are being monitored and rescued using thermal drone technology.

The Punjab Safe City Authority is using these drones to provide life and financial assistance to flood victims, and so far more than 800 cases have been coordinated with the help of these drones.

The drones use thermal technology to detect humans and animals submerged in deep water, allowing rescue teams to pinpoint their exact location and dispatch crews to rescue them immediately.

CM Maryam Nawaz congratulated the Safe City Authority and called the use of this technology a beneficial option in flood situations.
