Sindh to Distribute 10,000 Free E-Motorcycles to Women

Sindh has planned to provide free E-motorcycles for women. The program is an initiative of the Sindh Worker Welfare Board (SWWB), under which 10,000 electric motorcycles will be provided to women workers in the industrial sector in Sindh. Its registration is available on the official website, and this was announced by Provincial Minister for Labor Shahid Thaheem on Friday.

Eligibility for Sindh Free E-Motorcycle

Sindh’s free E-bike scheme is for women between the ages of 20 and 45 who are working in the industrial sector. 20% of it has been reserved for minorities in Sindh, highlighting that minorities also make up a significant portion of Sindh’s workforce.

This is a lucky draw-like process, the applications of which are completely computerized and there will be no human intervention at all, so that the process remains completely fair and there is no scope for any kind of favoritism or corruption. The successful women in the draw will be given 60 days to complete the validity of their driving license, after which they will be handed over the motorcycle. Without a valid driving license within 60 days, the right of the candidate will be canceled.

Minister Thaheem’s Remarks on E-Motorcycle Initiative

Provincial Minister for Labor Shahid Thaheem said that this initiative provides an eco-friendly transportation option for working women of Sindh. He emphasized that women constitute a large portion of Pakistan’s population and empowering them is a strong step towards the country’s development and growth.

Thaheem proposed a 20% quota for minorities, highlighting that the scheme would benefit diverse sections of society and there would be no preferential distribution on any basis.
