Ex-PM Anwaar ul Haq Kakar Addresses Karachi University Students on Unity and Positivity

On Tuesday, 17 December, former caretaker prime minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar visited the University of Karachi and spoke to students and faculty members about promoting unity and avoiding negativity.

During the event at the Jinnah Auditorium of the Dr. A.Q. Khan Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering, Kakar emphasized the role of young people in creating positive change in Pakistan.

A video from the event shows him saying, “We can have differing opinions based on facts, but we must stop spreading negative propaganda.

He also highlighted how the nation is often mocked for past failures. “Are we the only country to lose a war? Wars are part of history. Nations lose and move forward. But in Pakistan, some groups want to focus on mocking instead of progress,” he said.

Kakar encouraged students to create a culture of tolerance and debate while prioritizing the state’s interests.

The event was organized by KU’s student adviser office in collaboration with the Sindh Higher Education Commission (SHEC). KU Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi and SHEC Chairperson Dr. Tariq Rafi also spoke about the importance of education for national growth.
